Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough lies near the west Pilbara coast, with an associated cloud band
expected to deepen over the area today and Monday before starting to ease on
Tuesday. Meanwhile, a weak high over central Australia extends a ridge through
the remainder of northern WA with the ridge expected to maintain mostly light
winds and clear skies until early next week for northeastern parts.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cloud band extends through the Gascoyne and into the Goldfields, and will
extend further east and southward over the next couple of days. The cloud band
is expected to deepen off the North West of the State and could produce heavy
rainfall over parts of the Gascoyne today and Monday. Elsewhere, a ridge over
eastern WA will move east out of the state today as a cold front moves over the
southwest corner overnight this morning before contracting away into the
Southern Ocean later in the day. Another cold front will move across the south
coast during Tuesday followed by a ridge extending east over southern parts of
the state later Tuesday and Wednesday.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 16 June
Rain, chance of a thunderstorm and moderate to possibly heavy rainfall over the
western Pilbara and northwest Gascoyne. Showers possible over the remaining
Gascoyne, Goldfields, and through much of the South West Land Division, though
mostly about the Lower West, South West and South Coastal District. Chance of a
thunderstorm about coastal parts between Mandurah and Albany. Possible morning
fog over inland parts of the South West Land Division, adjacent southeast
Gascoyne and far southwest Goldfields.

Forecast for Monday 17 June
Rain and the chance of a thunderstorm extending from the west Pilbara into the
Gascoyne and northern Goldfields. Possible heavy falls through the northwest
Gascoyne. Light showers through much of the South West Land Division, remaining
Goldfields, south and west South Interior and western Eucla. Areas of morning
fog possible through inland southern and central parts of the South West Land
Division and adjacent southern Goldfields.

Forecast for Tuesday 18 June
Showers or areas of rain extending from the west Pilbara and northern and
eastern Gascoyne into the Goldfields, Eucla and southern and western South
Interior, easing during the day. Chance of a thunderstorm over the west and
central Pilbara and northern Gascoyne. Showers about coastal parts of the South
West Land Division, extending to inland parts southwest of a line Perth to
Hopetoun for a period during the day. Areas of morning fog possible through
inland southern and central parts of the South West Land Division

Forecast for Wednesday 19 June
Showers or areas of rain over the west Pilbara, northern half of the Gascoyne,
far north Goldfields and western South Interior. Chance of a thunderstorm over
the west Pilbara and northwest Gascoyne. Possible showers along the south coast.
