Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak ridge reaching far northeastern parts of the state and a trough over the
western Pilbara will gradually move east today as a new ridge becomes
established over central parts of the state. This ridge will strengthen later
in the week bringing moderate to fresh easterly winds over northern parts on
Friday and Saturday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front is approaching the South West Land Division early this morning
followed by a cold and unstable airmass today. A trough over the Gascoyne and
Goldfields will move east into the South Interior and Eucla today ahead of the
cold front. A new ridge will becomes established over central parts of the
state on Thursday and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 29 May
Showers over the South West Land Division, northern Gascoyne coast, Goldfields,
Eucla, Interior, northeastern Pilbara and southwest Kimberley. Chance of gusty
thunderstorms along coastal areas between Jurien Bay and Walpole, the Esperance
coast, the northern Gascoyne coast and also over parts of the South Interior,
far east Goldfields and Eucla. Possible hail south of Gingin to Walpole.
Moderate falls possible over the Lower West district, coastal parts of the
South West district and southwest Kimberley. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Very
windy over southern parts of the State.
Forecast for Thursday 30 May
Showers over the western and far southern South West Land Division, far east
Pilbara, Kimberley and northeast Interior. Chance of thunderstorms in exposed
coastal locations from Augusta to Albany. Possible hail along the Albany coast
in the early morning. Chance of morning frost over the far southeastern
Gascoyne and far northeastern Central Wheat Belt.
Forecast for Friday 31 May
Showers southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Albany and along the south
coast. Chance of showers over the north and east Kimberley and northeast North
Interior. Chance of morning fog over the eastern Central West district, Central
Wheat Belt and far southeast Gascoyne districts. Chance of patchy morning frost
over the eastern Central Wheat Belt, far northwest Goldfields, far eastern
Gascoyne, and eastern Southern Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 1 June
Showers and rain southwest of a line from Mandurah to Walpole, extending to
southwest of Exmouth to Bremer Bay in the afternoon. Showers developing about
the western Pilbara coast in the afternoon and evening. Moderate falls possible
in the southern Lower West and South West Districts. The chance of
thunderstorms southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Walpole. Chance of morning
frost in the eastern Southern Interior.
