Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
The high pressure ridge to the southeast will continue to weaken and a surface
trough will become established over the Pilbara and Kimberley during today and
on Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system in the Bight and associated ridge will dominate the
weather pattern over the next couple of days. A relatively weak cold front due
to cross the west coast later Friday into Saturday. Another cold front is
forecast to reach the southwest corner later Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 23 May
Mostly sunny throughout, apart from the chance of a morning shower along the
coastal South Coastal district. Patchy morning fog over the South Coastal and
adjacent South West districts.
Forecast for Friday 24 May
Showers developing southwest of a line from Jurien Bay and Denmark during the
afternoon and evening, with the chance of gusty thunderstorms near the coast
between Perth and Augusta. Mostly light falls expected. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
Forecast for Saturday 25 May
Showers southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Albany, mostly clearing by
evening. Light falls expected. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
Forecast for Sunday 26 May
Showers developing southwest of a line from Perth to Albany. Mostly sunny over
the remainder of the State.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
