Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong ridge to the south is bringing fresh southeasterly winds to the
Pilbara and to southern Kimberley, pushing a trough offshore from the Pilbara
coast. The remnants of tropical cyclone Megan, embedded within another surface
trough, is slowly dissipating over the Kimberley.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure system lies in the Bight, maintaining a firm ridge
across the south of the state. The high will move slowly east over the weekend,
causing the ridge to weaken. Meanwhile, a trough located about the west coast
will persist well into next week.
