Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough well offshore from the Pilbara coast will move closer to land as a
strong ridge to the south weakens. The remnants of Tropical Cyclone Megan,
embedded within another surface trough, is slowly dissipating over the
Kimberley.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure system lies in the Bight and is maintaining a firm ridge
across the south of the state. The high is slowly moving east, causing the
ridge to weaken from Monday. Meanwhile, a trough will persist about the west
coast this week.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 25 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the central and eastern Kimberley, and northern
and central Interior. Chance of a shower over the eastern Pilbara.

Forecast for Tuesday 26 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the central and eastern Kimberley, and
northern and central Interior. Chance of a shower over the eastern Pilbara.
Chance of morning fog in the far southwest.

Forecast for Wednesday 27 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over eastern Kimberley, and northern and
central Interior. Chance of a shower over the eastern Pilbara.

Forecast for Thursday 28 March
Showers and thunderstorms over eastern Kimberley, and northern and central
Interior. Chance of a shower over the far eastern Pilbara.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
