Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong ridge south of the State is bringing fresh southeasterly winds to the
Pilbara and southern Kimberley, pushing a trough near the Pilbara coast. The
remnants of tropical cyclone Megan lie over the central Kimberley, embedded
within another surface trough.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure ridge lies south of the State with a trough near the
west coast. The ridge will move slowly east and weaken over the weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 23 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the central and eastern Kimberley and northeast
Interior, with isolated heavy falls possible. Light showers, mostly morning,
over the Eucla, southeast Goldfields and near the south coast east of Albany.
Windy over much of the State.

Forecast for Sunday 24 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the central and eastern Kimberley and northern
and central Interior, with isolated heavy falls possible. Windy over central
and southeastern parts of the State.

Forecast for Monday 25 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the central and eastern Kimberley and northern
and central Interior, with isolated heavy falls possible. Windy over central
parts of the State, mainly in the morning.

Forecast for Tuesday 26 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the central and eastern Kimberley and eastern
parts of the Interior.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
