Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong high pressure ridge to the south is bringing fresh southeasterly winds
over northern parts and pushing the surface trough into northern parts of the
Kimberley and offshore from the Pilbara coast. The remnants of Ex-Tropical
Cyclone Megan, currently over the Northern Territory is forecast to move west
into eastern parts of the Kimberley later in the week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong high pressure ridge is building south of the state and will remain
there throughout the week.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 21 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, apart from the far south. Chance
of showers over the inland west Pilbara, northeast North Interior, coastal
Eucla and far eastern South East Coastal district. Windy over much of the State.
Forecast for Friday 22 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley. Showers over the
northeast North Interior and remaining Kimberley, apart from the far southwest.
Chance of showers over the inland west Pilbara, Eucla, southeast Goldfields and
near the south coast, east of Walpole. Windy over much of the State.
Forecast for Saturday 23 March
Showers and thunderstorms over most of the Kimberley. Chance of showers over
most of the North Interior, the northeast South Interior, Eucla, southeast
Goldfields and along the south coast east of Albany. Windy over much of the
State.
Forecast for Sunday 24 March
Showers and thunderstorms over eastern and central parts of the Kimberley.
Chance of showers over the remaining Kimberley, most of the Interior, coastal
and west Eucla, southeast Goldfields and eastern South East Coastal district.
Windy over much of the State away from the far southwest.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
