Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies over the north of the State, before a strong
ridge of high pressure developing to the south pushes the trough offshore from
the Pilbara coast from today. A tropical low lies well offshore from the west
Pilbara coast. The low is forecast to move west and may develop into a tropical
cyclone from Thursday. It is not expected to impact the WA mainland.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong ridge of high pressure is building south of the state and will remain
there throughout the week.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 20 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northern and western Pilbara and
northern and central Gascoyne. Showers over the far northern Goldfields and far
northwest South Interior. Windy over most of the State, apart from the
Kimberley.

Forecast for Thursday 21 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, apart from the far south. Chance
of showers over the inland west Pilbara, northeast North Interior, coastal
Eucla and far eastern South East Coastal district. Windy over much of the State.

Forecast for Friday 22 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley. Showers over the
northeast North Interior and remaining Kimberley, apart from the southwest.
Chance of showers over the inland west Pilbara, Eucla, southeast Goldfields and
near the south coast, east of Walpole. Windy over much of the State.

Forecast for Saturday 23 March
Showers and thunderstorms over most of the Kimberley and eastern North
Interior. Chance of showers over the northeast South Interior, Eucla, southeast
Goldfields and south coast, east of Albany. Windy over much of the State.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
