Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough of low pressure extends across the Pilbara and Kimberley.
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Lincoln is located close to the WA/NT border in the
southeast Kimberley and moving slowly west. It will move northwest into
northern parts of the Kimberley during today and on Wednesday, moving offshore
late Wednesday or Thursday and redevelop into a Tropical Cyclone. The system
will then move southwest and offshore to the Kimberley coast and may approach
the Pilbara coast during Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A low pressure trough extends down the west coast whilst a high pressure ridge
remains to the south. The low pressure trough is expected to move eastwards
during today ahead of a weak cold front brushing the southwest corner on
Wednesday. A new high pressure ridge will extend east along the south coast
later Wednesday and Thursday, with a new trough down the west coast on Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 20 February
Rain, gusty thunderstorms, and heavy falls possible over the north and east
Kimberley. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the remaining Kimberley, far
north Interior and northeast Pilbara. Windy over the inland Gascoyne, northern
Goldfields, Interior.Very hot over most parts of the State away from the
northeastern Kimberley.

Forecast for Wednesday 21 February
Rain, gusty thunderstorms, and heavy falls possible over the north and
northwest Kimberley. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the remaining
Kimberley, northern Interior, and coastal parts of the eastern Pilbara.
Possible shower about the far southwest of the State. Possible morning fog over
the far western parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot over most parts
of the State away from the northern Kimberley and southwestern parts of the
State.

Forecast for Thursday 22 February
Rain, gusty thunderstorms, and heavy falls possible over the northwest
Kimberley. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the remaining Kimberley,
northwest North Interior, Pilbara and northeast Gascoyne. Becoming windy over
the eastern Pilbara. Very hot over northern and central parts of the state.

Forecast for Friday 23 February
Possible showers and thunderstorms over most of the Kimberley, Pilbara,
northern parts of the Interior, Gascoyne and far northern South West Land
Division. Windy conditions over the Pilbara and over central parts of the State
and the Darling Scarp. Very hot over the inland southwest Pilbara, inland
Gascoyne and northern South West Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
