Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure extends over the Pilbara coast to the North
Interior.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A low-pressure system over the Interior continues to bring rainfall whilst
weakening. A firm ridge extends over the southern WA coast. A trough is forming
along the west coast and will deepen on Saturday, before moving east on Sunday.
A weak cold front will brush past the southwest coast on Sunday, followed by a
new ridge of high pressure.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 26 January
Showers and thunderstorms over most of the Kimberley, eastern and southern
Interior, far eastern Gascoyne, northern and eastern Goldfields and eastern
Eucla. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over the
Pilbara and western parts of North Interior. Heavy falls possible over far
eastern Gascoyne, western parts of South Interior, eastern and northern
Goldfields. Windy across central Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and central
Interior. Very hot over the far southwest Pilbara, far western Gascoyne and
inland northeast parts of Central West.
Forecast for Saturday 27 January
Showers and thunderstorms over central and eastern Kimberley, northern
Goldfields, eastern and southern Interior, and adjacent Eucla. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over inland Gascoyne, most
parts of the Pilbara and western parts of North Interior. Very hot over the far
western Gascoyne and inland northeast parts of Central West.
Forecast for Sunday 28 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the eastern and northern Kimberley and eastern
Interior. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over
central and eastern Pilbara, western Interior, eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Eucla, and eastern parts of South East Coastal district. Light showers
southwest of Busselton to Albany. Chance of morning fog about the southwest
coast. Very hot over the western Gascoyne and inland northeast parts of Central
West.
Forecast for Monday 29 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the eastern and northern Kimberley and eastern
Interior. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over
much of the Pilbara, western Interior, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, and
eastern parts of South of the South West Land Division. Very hot over the
western Gascoyne and inland northeast parts of Central West.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
