Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough remains over inland Pilbara and the Kimberley. A tropical low
over inland parts of the Northern Territory may move closer to the WA/NT border
during the weekend.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge remains to the south of the State. A deep trough near the
west coast will slowly move inland today and will be followed by a milder west
to southwest flow across the South West Land Division later in the week.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 17 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, possibly heavy at times
over the far eastern Kimberley. Chance of a shower or gusty thunderstorm over
inland Gascoyne, central and eastern Pilbara, across most of the South West
Land Division, far west Goldfields, and the Interior. Thunderstorms may be
severe over the South West Land Division and Gascoyne. Chance of a light shower
on the west coast. Very hot over the Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and inland parts
of the South West Land Division. Windy in the morning about the southwest.
Forecast for Thursday 18 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, possibly heavy at times
over the eastern Kimberley. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over northern
Interior, most parts of the Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, eastern parts of the
South West Land Division, Goldfields and western Eucla. Chance of a light
shower on the west coast. Very hot over the Pilbara, inland Gascoyne,
Goldfields, southern Interior and far eastern parts of the South West Land
Division.
Forecast for Friday 19 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, possibly heavy at times
over the eastern Kimberley. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over northern
Gascoyne, Pilbara and northern Interior. Possible light showers along the south
coast between Augusta and Bremer Bay. Very hot over the Pilbara, Gascoyne,
Goldfields, Interior, Eucla and far northeastern parts of Central West.
Forecast for Saturday 20 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, possibly heavy at times
over the eastern Kimberley. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over northern
Gascoyne, Pilbara and northern Interior. Possible light showers over the
southern coast districts. Very hot over the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Goldfields,
Interior and far northern parts of the South West Land Division.
