Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over inland northern parts of the State. The western end of
the trough will be pushed eastward today as a high pressure ridge over the
Indian Ocean extends through the west Pilbara. The trough will then deepen back
westward over the north Pilbara coast on Thursday and Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extends from the eastern Gascoyne through the Central Land Division
with a branch of the trough stretching back towards the southwest corner. The
trough will move eastward during Tuesday as a ridge extends over the west
coast. A high will move south of the State on Wednesday, then a cold front will
brush the South West on Thursday morning. A new, stronger ridge will develop
rapidly over western and southern parts of the State later Thursday into Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 7 November
Showers and gusty thunderstorms, mostly during the afternoon and evening,
across the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern Gascoyne, Interior, southern and
eastern Goldfields, Eucla and South East Coastal District. Light showers over
the south coast west of Esperance. Very warm to hot through most of northern
and eastern WA.
Forecast for Wednesday 8 November
Showers and thunderstorms, mostly afternoon and evening, over the Kimberley,
east Pilbara and North Interior. Light morning showers possible over the
eastern South Coastal district and South East Coastal district.Sunny and a bit
warmer about the west coast districts.
Forecast for Thursday 9 November
Showers and thunderstorms, mostly afternoon and evening, over the Kimberley and
eastern North Interior. Showers over the South West and South Coastal District,
especially early in the day. Milder in the southwest corner but tending warmer
through the eastern South West Land Division and Goldfields.
Forecast for Friday 10 November
Showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon and evening, over the north
and east Kimberley and eastern North Interior. Possible light showers, about
the southern South West and South Coastal District. Tending cooler through the
southern Goldfields and South East Coastal District.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
