Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough remains over the Kimberley and Pilbara. Fresh and gusty easterly winds
across the Pilbara and North Interior will extend to the base of the Kimberley
due to a firm ridge to the south today. The inland trough will move closer to
the Pilbara and Kimberley coasts later on today as the ridge moves east and
builds over central Australia. A new ridge developing to the south will bring
fresh and gusty southerly winds to western Pilbara tomorrow, pushing the
coastal trough inland again.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A firm ridge of high pressure extends over southern WA, as a trough deepens
along the west coast. The trough will move inland tomorrow ahead of a weak cold
front, followed by a new ridge of high pressure extending across the southwest
coast.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 25 October
Possible afternoon shower or thunderstorm over northern and eastern Kimberley.
Very hot temperatures across northern and central parts of the State, warm to
hot across the South West Land Division. Windy morning over most of the state,
away from Kimberley. Morning fog over western Kimberley.
Fire Danger:
Extreme in the Swan Inland South district.
Forecast for Thursday 26 October
Possible afternoon shower or thunderstorm over northern and western Kimberley.
Chance of a thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over eastern Pilbara,
eastern Gascoyne, adjacent South Interior and northern Goldfields. Light
showers developing in the far southwest. Very hot temperatures across northern
and central parts of the State, warm to hot across the eastern parts South West
Land Division. Windy morning over most of the State, away from northern
Kimberley. Morning fog over northwest Kimberley.
Forecast for Friday 27 October
Possible afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the southwestern Kimberley,
eastern Pilbara and adjacent North Interior. Isolated showers or thunderstorms
over eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, western South Interior and Eucla. Light
showers over southern coastal districts and southwest Goldfields. Very hot
temperatures across northern and central parts of the State. Windy morning over
most of the state.
Forecast for Saturday 28 October
Chance of a thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over eastern and central
Pilbara. Isolated showers or thunderstorms over far eastern Gascoyne,
Goldfields, western South Interior and Eucla. Very hot temperatures across
northern and central parts of the State. Windy morning over central and
northeastern parts of the state.
