Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough remains over the Kimberley and Pilbara. A new ridge developing to the
south will direct fresh winds across the Pilbara from Monday, extending to the
North Interior on Tuesday, especially in the mornings, reaching the base of the
Kimberley on Wednesday. Later in the week, the trough will move closer to the
Pilbara and Kimberley coasts as a firm ridge develops over central Australia.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough moving east across inland parts of the South West Land Division will
move through the Goldfields and South Interior on Monday, before exiting into
South Australia on Monday night. A firm ridge of high pressure will develop
over the southwest on Monday, extending over southern WA on Tuesday. A west
coast trough will develop as early as Tuesday, before deepening and moving
inland later in the week ahead of a weak cold front.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 22 October
Light showers over Lower West, South West, western Central Wheat Belt and
western parts of the Great Southern. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the
eastern parts of the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and western
Eucla. Possible shower or thunderstorm over the far northern and far western
Kimberley, and adjacent northwest Pilbara. Windy through southern parts.
Forecast for Monday 23 October
Showers over southern districts, adjacent Goldfields and coastal Eucla,
contracting east during the morning. Chance of a morning thunderstorm over
eastern South East Coastal, adjacent Goldfields and adjacent Eucla. Chance of a
thunderstorm over eastern South Interior, with little or no rainfall. Possible
afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the far northern and far western
Kimberley. Possible morning fog over the west Kimberley. Very hot temperatures
across northern and central parts of the State, cooler across the South West
Land Division and Goldfields. Windy through Pilbara, Goldfields, Eucla and
South Interior.
Forecast for Tuesday 24 October
Possible afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the coastal Kimberley and near
the eastern border. Possible morning fog over the west Kimberley. Very hot
temperatures across northern and central parts of the State. Windy morning
through central parts and southern parts.
Forecast for Wednesday 25 October
Possible afternoon shower or thunderstorm over coastal Kimberley. Very hot
temperatures across northern and central parts of the State. Windy morning over
most of the State, away from Kimberley.
Forecast for Thursday 26 October
Possible afternoon shower or thunderstorm over northern and western Kimberley.
Light showers developing in the far southwest. Very hot temperatures across
northern and central parts of the State. Windy morning over most of the State,
away from northern Kimberley.
