Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weakening high pressure ridge over central Australia is directing a dry east
to southeasterly flow across the northern half of the State. Winds are easing
as the ridge moves away, allowing a coastal trough to drift inland. Meanwhile,
a new ridge building to the south from the Indian Ocean is directing a moderate
to fresh southeasterly flow across western Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough through the Goldfields is moving into the Interior and will exit the
state early during today. A new ridge is extending through southern and western
parts of the State from the Indian Ocean. A weak trough will re-form through
the Gascoyne and northern parts of the South West Land Division during today,
before moving inland on the weekend ahead of a weak cold front brushing past
the south coast on Sunday.
