Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure system well south of the country is continuing to direct dry,
southeasterly winds across the north of the State. A weak trough lies near the
west Kimberley and Pilbara coast.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies well south of the country with a deep trough down
the west coast. The trough will move slowly inland this afternoon, reaching the
Goldfields on Sunday night. A weak ridge will move over the southwest of the
State on Monday, strengthening and pushing inland on Tuesday after a weak cold
front crosses the southwest corner.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 7 October
Moderate to fresh and gusty east to northeasterly winds across most of the
State in the morning. Very hot in the Kimberley, Pilbara and inland Gascoyne.
Warm to hot over remaining western parts.
Forecast for Sunday 8 October
Mostly sunny. Moderate to fresh and gusty winds over the Kimberley and over
central, southern parts of the State in the morning. Morning fog possible along
the Central West coast. Very hot in the Kimberley, Pilbara and through central
parts of the State.
Forecast for Monday 9 October
Partly cloudy over central and southwestern parts of the State. Very hot in the
Kimberley, Pilbara and through central parts of the State.
Forecast for Tuesday 10 October
Light showers over southern districts, mainly southwest of a line Busselton to
Bremer Bay. Hot across the north and over southeastern parts of the State, with
a cooler change for the southwest.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
