Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong high pressure ridge building over southern WA is directing a hot
southeasterly surge across much of the northern districts, pushing a trough
over the Pilbara and Kimberley further north. The trough extension over the
Pilbara will push offshore before moving back over the coast later in the week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong ridge is becoming established across southern WA. A trough will deepen
down the west coast over the next few days, before moving slowly inland over
the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 5 October
Light showers south of Busselton to Bremer Bay, contracting to the coast in the
afternoon. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley,
mainly in the afternoon. Moderate to fresh and gusty winds in the morning
through the southern Kimberley, Interior, eastern Pilbara, and inland Gascoyne.
Very hot in the western Kimberley. Chance of morning fog over southern coastal
districts.
Forecast for Friday 6 October
Isolated showers and thunderstorms over northern and western Kimberley, mainly
in the afternoon. Chance of a thunderstorm with little or no rainfall over
northern parts of the North Interior, southwest Pilbara, and northern inland
Gascoyne. Moderate to fresh and gusty winds in the morning through most parts
of the State. Very hot in the southwest Kimberley. Warm to hot over western
parts.
Forecast for Saturday 7 October
Isolated showers and thunderstorms over western Kimberley, mainly in the
afternoon. Moderate to fresh and gusty winds in the morning through most parts
of the State. Very hot in the southwest Kimberley. Warm to hot over western
parts.
Forecast for Sunday 8 October
Mostly sunny. Moderate to fresh and gusty winds in the morning over eastern and
southern parts. Warm to hot over western parts away from the west coast.
