Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong high pressure ridge will build eastwards over the south of the State
and bring a fresh surge of southeasterly winds across much of the northern
parts of the State this morning. A trough should develop over the northern
Kimberley and extend along the Pilbara coast.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front has moved east of the State. A strong ridge is becoming
established across the south of the State in the wake of this front. A trough
should deepen down the west coast from today to Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 3 October
Showers about the south coastal districts, mainly during the morning except
along the Eucla coast. Chance of small hail along the south coat east of Bremer
Bay mainly during the morning. Fresh and gusty winds in the morning through
central parts of the State, as well as the Pilbara and North Interior. Cooler
than normal through much of the State bar the Kimberley and northeast Pilbara.
Forecast for Wednesday 4 October
Possible light shower over the far southwest of the State. Chance of isolated
showers and thunderstorms over the far northern Kimberley. Apart from the
northern Kimberley, fresh and gusty winds in the morning through the northern
parts of the State.
Forecast for Thursday 5 October
Apart from isolated showers or thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley and a
possible light shower along the Albany Coast, the remainder of the State will
remain dry. Fresh and gusty winds in the morning through the Interior, eastern
Pilbara, and southern Kimberley.
Forecast for Friday 6 October
Isolated showers and thunderstorms over northwestern parts of the Kimberley,
northeast Pilbara, and western North Interior. Over the remainder of the State
expect dry conditions. Fresh and gusty winds in the morning through the
interior of the State.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
