Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough has moved closer to the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts due to a firm
ridge further east. A ridge developing over southwest WA will gradually push
the tail end of the trough over the Pilbara further inland on the weekend.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep trough over the South West Land Division will move to the Goldfields
today before entering the Interior on Saturday. A ridge developing near the
west coast will slowly extend over the South West Land Division today. A weak
cold front brushes past the far southwest of the State on Saturday, followed by
a more substantial cold front late on Sunday into Monday. A cold and blustery
southwest flow will extend across the coastal waters in the wake of the cold
front early next week.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 29 September
Possible morning fog over the western Kimberley, southern and western South
West Land Division. Chance of light showers and dry, gusty thunderstorms in the
southern Goldfields, eastern Central Wheat Belt, adjacent Gascoyne, far east
Great Southern and South East Coastal District. Chance of an afternoon shower
or thunderstorm over the far northern Kimberley. Light showers developing about
the southwest coast later in the evening. Tending cooler in southern and
western parts of the South West Land Division but remaining very warm to hot in
the east, as well as the Goldfields. Very hot conditions persisting through the
inland Gascoyne and Pilbara.

Forecast for Saturday 30 September
Possible morning fog over the western Kimberley. Showers over the southwestern
parts of the South West Land Division and northwest Kimberley. Possible showers
and thunderstorms in the southern Goldfields, eastern South East Coastal
district and western Eucla.

Forecast for Sunday 1 October
Showers southwest of Northampton to Lake Grace to Bremer Bay. Possible morning
fog over western parts of the South West Land Division, western Kimberley and
adjacent Pilbara.

Forecast for Monday 2 October
Showers over the South West Land Division, far southern Gascoyne, southwest
Goldfields and western Eucla, more frequent with chance of gusty thunderstorms
and possible small hail about the southwest and south coasts. Much cooler than
normal and windy across southern WA.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
