Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A firm ridge extends across the north from a high in the Great Australian
Bight, while a trough lies across the Kimberley and Pilbara coast. The ridge
will weaken over the next few days as the high drifts eastwards.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough in the west of the state will move slowly eastward today and Friday. A
weak cold front moves over the very far southwest of the State on Saturday with
another but more substantial front due late Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 28 September
Possible morning fog over the west Kimberley and Southwest district. Remaining
very hot over the Pilbara and Gascoyne with possible record heat from the
inland Central West through the Central Wheat Belt and eastern Great Southern.
Tending milder along the Central West coast as well as the Lower West and South
West. Possible showers and thunderstorms over the southwest Goldfields,
southeastern Central Wheat Belt, far east Great Southern and South East Coastal
District.
Forecast for Friday 29 September
Possible morning fog over the west Kimberley. Possible showers and
thunderstorms in the southern Goldfields, eastern Central Wheat Belt, far east
Great Southern and South East Coastal District. Tending cooler in southern and
western parts of the South West Land Division but remaining very warm to hot in
the northeast, as well as the Goldfields. Very hot conditions persisting
through the inland Gascoyne and Pilbara.
Forecast for Saturday 30 September
Showers over the southwestern parts of the South West Land Division. Possible
showers and thunderstorms in the southern Goldfields, eastern South East
Coastal district and western Eucla.
Forecast for Sunday 1 October
Showers southwest of Jurien Bay to Katanning to Albany. Possible morning fog
over inland parts of the Southwest Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
