Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the Pilbara, Kimberley and North Interior. The western
edge of the trough will move east later in the week as a ridge develops over
the western Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge extending east along the southern districts is pushing a
weak trough over central parts northwards. A high pressure centre will move
into Bight waters later Wednesday and Thursday with a west coast trough
deepening down the west coast, bringing warmer conditions to the South West
Land Division. The trough will move inland on Friday and be moving east over
central and eastern parts on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 20 September
Light showers over the southern coastal districts. Chance of morning fog over
inland parts of the South West Land Division, and over the southwest Kimberley.
Windy over central eastern parts and about the Gascoyne and Geraldton coasts.
Forecast for Thursday 21 September
Partly cloudy with the chance of a light shower or thunderstorm over central
and northern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy at times during the
day through the central parts.
Forecast for Friday 22 September
Chance of a light shower over southern and central parts of the South West Land
Division, Goldfields and adjacent Eucla. Windy at times during the day through
central and eastern parts.
Forecast for Saturday 23 September
Light showers over western and southern parts of the South West Land Division,
southern Goldfields and western Eucla. Windy at times during the day through
eastern parts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
