Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Warm, dry, fresh and gusty east to northeast winds continue across the north of
the State this weekend, easing from later Monday. Meanwhile, a weak trough is
developing over western Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system in the Bight and a trough near the west coast are
combining to produce very warm, dry northerly winds across the south. The high
and the trough will gradually move east this weekend, ahead of a weak cold
front approaching the southwest coast. The cold front will cross the southwest
coast early Monday and weaken as it travels east. A new ridge will extend along
the south coast from later Monday in the wake of the front.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 27 August
Showers developing west of Busselton to Walpole during the morning, extending
to southwest of Yanchep to Salmon Gums to Esperance during the afternoon and
evening with the chance of a gusty thunderstorm. Morning fog patches over
southern parts of the South West Land Division. Windy across the Kimberley,
eastern parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields and Eucla.
Forecast for Monday 28 August
Isolated showers southwest of Rockingham to Hopetoun. Morning fog patches over
inland parts of the Central West, western Central Wheat Belt and adjacent Lower
West.
Forecast for Tuesday 29 August
Isolated light showers through southern coastal districts west of Israelite
Bay. Morning fog patches over southern parts of the South West Land Division
and adjacent Goldfields.
Forecast for Wednesday 30 August
Chance of a light shower about the southwest coast.
