Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure ridge lies over the Pilbara and North Interior. A new ridge
will develop over the Gascoyne on Wednesday and returning cool east to
southeast winds from Thursday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold and gusty, showery westerly flow will continue over the south of the
State for the remainder of the week, with a series of embedded cold fronts
brushing the south coast. Meanwhile, a ridge developing through the Gascoyne on
Wednesday will slowly move south by the weekend with showery and windy
conditions easing.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 5 July
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern and coastal Gascoyne,
Goldfields and Eucla. Cloudy with patchy showers in the Kimberley. Showers more
frequent about the south coast with gusty winds and clearing from inland parts
by evening. Chance of gusty thunderstorms about the south coast between Windy
Harbour and Israelite Bay. Possible hail south of Harvey to Narrogin to
Esperance. Windy in the south. Large swells and hazardous surf about the west
and south coasts. Possible flooding of low lying coastal areas of the Southeast
Coastal district due to abnormally high tides.
Forecast for Thursday 6 July
Showers, mostly coastal, over the South West Land Division, coastal southern
Gascoyne and coastal Eucla. Light falls. Chance of morning frost over inland
Gascoyne, eastern Central Wheat Belt and north and west Goldfields.
Forecast for Friday 7 July
Showers, mostly coastal, over the South West Land Division. Light falls. Chance
of morning frost over the inland Gascoyne, northeast Central Wheat Belt,
northeast Central West district, northern Goldfields and South Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 8 July
Showers, mostly coastal, over the South West Land Division, south of Jurien Bay
and along the Eucla coast. Light falls. Chance of morning frost over the
eastern Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and South Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
