Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure ridge building over central parts of the State is directing a
cooler and drier southeasterly flow across the Pilbara, Interior and southern
Kimberley. An unseasonal cloud band will develop over the region on Sunday and
become more widespread and active next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front about the Southwest Capes will move across the broader parts of
southern WA today and weaken gradually. A series of weak cold fronts embedded
within a cool to cold southwesterly flow will then continue across the south
for the remainder of the week and early next week. Meanwhile, a ridge building
along the Midwest and Interior will weaken on Sunday, with a new ridge
developing across the Bight on Monday as a trough forms near the west coast.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 23 June
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne, western
Goldfields and western Eucla district, more frequent over the southern parts.
Possible gusty thunderstorms near the south coast. Possible small hail over
southern parts of the South West Land Division. Possible morning frost over the
southeast Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, far northern Goldfields, and central
Interior. Possible morning fog over the far northern Kimberley. Windy over the
southern parts of the State.
Forecast for Saturday 24 June
Showers over most of the South West Land Division, far southwest Goldfields and
southwest Eucla coast, more frequent about the west and south coasts. Possible
small hail along the south coast and adjacent inland areas. Possible morning
frost over the far southeast Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Central Wheat Belt and
adjacent Great Southern, far western Goldfields and central Interior. Possible
morning fog over the far northern Kimberley. Windy across Eucla, eastern parts
of South East Coastal and southern Goldfields.
Forecast for Sunday 25 June
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne, southwest
Goldfields and southwest coast of Eucla district, more frequent about the south
and west coasts of the South West Land Division. Light rain and showers
developing over northeast Pilbara, far southwest Kimberley and central
Interior. Possible morning frost over inland Gascoyne, northeast Goldfields and
South Interior.
Forecast for Monday 26 June
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern and western Gascoyne,
southwest Goldfields and southwest coast of the Eucla district, more frequent
about the south coast of the South West Land Division. Rain and showers over
eastern Pilbara, western and southern Kimberley and Interior. Thunderstorms
possible over northwest Kimberley.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
