Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure ridge is directing a dry, cooler east to southeasterly flow
through northern parts. The ridge will begin to weaken and move east on Monday
and Tuesday as a weak trough well offshore from the west coast moves closer to
the state. East to southeasterly winds will begin to freshen again on Thursday
as the next ridge starts to develop to the south.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge over the state and will begin to weaken and move east on
Monday and Tuesday as weak trough well offshore from the west coast moves
closer to the state. A weakening cold front will brush the south coast Tuesday
night and Wednesday. A new high pressure ridge will rapidly develop in the wake
of the cold front and strengthen on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 22 May
Light showers southwest of a line Lancelin to Bremer Bay. Windy in the morning
over northern parts. Colder than normal at night across the Kimberley.
Forecast for Tuesday 23 May
Showers southwest of a line from Dongara to Esperance, with the chance of a
thunderstorm along the west coast between Dongara and Mandurah. Not as windy in
the morning across northern parts. Colder than normal at night across the
Kimberley.
Forecast for Wednesday 24 May
Showers southwest of a line Geraldton to Southern Cross to Balladonia, with the
chance of a thunderstorm along the west coast and adjacent inland parts between
Dongara and Yanchep. Colder than normal at night across the Kimberley.
Forecast for Thursday 25 May
Possible showers over southern and western districts off the South West Land
Division. Colder than normal at night across the Kimberley.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
