Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Severe Tropical Cyclone Ilsa is travelling inland across the Pilbara and North
Interior, slowly decaying today and on Saturday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A moderate cold front is moving over southwest parts of the State, with a ridge
to develop near the west coast in its wake. An unseasonal cool to cold
southwesterly flow is following over the south of the State. A weak cold front
then brushes the south coast on Saturday and again on Monday with the ridge
over central parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 14 April
Showers, rain and squally thunderstorms over the far southwest Kimberley, east
Pilbara and northern parts of the Interior with heavy rainfall and damaging to
destructive winds possible, which will contract east during the day, depending
on the movement and development of Severe Tropical Cyclone Ilsa. Showers and
gusty thunderstorms over the remaining Kimberley, northeast Gascoyne, southern
Interior, Goldfields and Eucla. Cold with showers over the western and southern
parts of the South West Land Division. Chance of thunderstorms with hail near
the southwest coast.

Forecast for Saturday 15 April
Showers, rain and squally thunderstorms over eastern parts of the Interior
gradually easing, depending on the movement of Severe Tropical Cyclone Ilsa.
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Cool with showers over the
coastal Eucla, western and southern parts of the South West Land Division,
south of Lancelin.

Forecast for Sunday 16 April
Possible showers and thunderstorms over the north Kimberley. Showers over
southwest of Lancelin to Bremer Bat and along the Esperance coast.

Forecast for Monday 17 April
Showers southwest of Rockingham to Bremer Bay.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
