Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A slow moving trough lies over inland Kimberley and Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure across the Southern Ocean directs an easterly flow
over southern coastal districts, while a broad trough over the South West Land
Division and Gascoyne deepens. The trough is slowly moving inland but will
branch back towards the west coast during today. The trough will move inland
once again on the weekend, followed by a ridge of high pressure.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 24 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne,
Goldfields, Eucla, western Interior, and over the South West Land Division
northeast of a line Lancelin to Corrigin to Hopetoun. Showers over remaining
parts south of Busselton to Ravensthorpe. Possible morning fog in the Central
West, Lower West and adjacent western Great Southern Districts. Very hot over
the South Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 25 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over northern and western Kimberley, Pilbara,
Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, western and southern Interior, and South West Land
Division. Areas of rain and isolated moderate to heavy falls possible over
central southern parts. Possible morning fog over southern parts of Central
West. Very hot over eastern South Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 26 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over western Kimberley, Pilbara, inland
Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, western and southern Interior, and over the South
West Land Division south of Jurien Bay to Paynes Find. Isolated moderate to
heavy falls possible over central southern parts. Areas of rain in the south.
Forecast for Monday 27 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over western Kimberley, Pilbara, northeastern
Gascoyne, north Goldfields, Eucla, western and Interior. Showers over the
remaining eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and southern and eastern
districts of the South West Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
