Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A slow moving trough lies over inland Kimberley and Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure across the Southern Ocean directs an easterly flow
over southern WA while a broad trough over the South West Land Division and
Gascoyne deepens. The trough will move slowly further inland before branching
back towards the west coast later in the week.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 22 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, western and southern
Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, Goldfields, adjacent South Interior, west Eucla and
far eastern parts of the South West Land Division, mostly in the afternoon and
evening. Morning fog patches in the Central West District. Isolated showers
along the south coast. Very hot over inland southwest Kimberley, Interior,
Pilbara, Gascoyne, inland Central West and eastern Central Wheat Belt.
Forecast for Thursday 23 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne,
Goldfields, and northeastern parts of the South West Land Division, mostly in
the afternoon and evening. Showers over southern coastal districts. Possible
morning fog in the Central West and northern parts of the Lower West districts.
Very hot over inland Gascoyne, Pilbara, northeastern Central Wheat Belt,
Interior and northern Goldfields.
Forecast for Friday 24 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne,
Goldfields, west Eucla, western Interior, northern and eastern parts of the
South West Land Division, mostly in the afternoon and evening. Showers over
southern coastal districts. Possible morning fog in the Central West and
northern Lower West Districts.
Forecast for Saturday 25 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over northern and western Kimberley, Pilbara,
Gascoyne, Goldfields, west Eucla, western and central Interior, and South West
Land Division. Possible morning fog in the Central West.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
