Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak, slow moving trough lies over inland Kimberley and Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough located in the Interior is contracting northwards as a ridge
strengthens over southern parts of the State on Sunday as a high pressure
system moves into the Bight. A new trough develops near the west coast on
Sunday, deepening on Monday and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 19 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and east Pilbara,
far northeast Gascoyne and northern parts of the Interior during the afternoon
and evening. Possible light showers near the Eucla coast. Windy at times over
central parts. Very hot over the southern Kimberley, North Interior, Pilbara,
inland Gascoyne and far northern parts of Central West.
Forecast for Monday 20 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern parts of
the Interior and the inland northern Gascoyne during the afternoon and evening.
Windy at times over central parts. Very hot over the inland southwest
Kimberley, North Interior, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and inland Central West.
Forecast for Tuesday 21 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley,
Pilbara, Gascoyne, northeast Central Wheat Belt and South East Coastal
district, mostly afternoon and evening. Very hot over the inland southwest
Kimberley, North Interior, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and and inland Central West
and northern Central Wheat Belt.
Forecast for Wednesday 22 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern and western Kimberley,
coastal and west Pilbara, Gascoyne, southwest Goldfields, adjacent Central West
and Central Wheat Belt districts and eastern parts of the South East Coastal
district, mostly afternoon and evening. Very hot over the inland southwest
Kimberley, North Interior, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne and inland Central West and
northern Central Wheat Belt.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
