Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak, slow moving trough lies over inland Kimberley and Pilbara. The western
end of the trough is moving north as a southeast wind change arrives due to a
high pressure ridge developing over southern parts.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough located in the Interior is rapidly contracting northwards. A new ridge
is developing over southern parts of the State and will strengthen on the
weekend as a high pressure system moves into Bight. A new trough develops near
the west coast on Sunday, deepening on Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 18 March
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara
and northern parts of the Interior during the afternoon and evening. Light
showers near the western south coast. Chance of morning fog in the far
southwest. Very hot over the southern Kimberley, Pilbara and North Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 19 March
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara,
far northeast Gascoyne and northern parts of the Interior during the afternoon
and evening. Possible light showers near the Eucla coast. Very hot over the
southern Kimberley, Pilbara, North Interior and northern parts of Central West.

Forecast for Monday 20 March
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern
parts of the Interior and the inland northern Gascoyne during the afternoon and
evening. Very hot over northern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Tuesday 21 March
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern and western
Kimberley, Pilbara and western Gascoyne during the afternoon and evening. Very
hot over the inland northern and central parts of the South West Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
