Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak, slow moving trough lies over the inland Kimberley and Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak ridge extending along the south coast is moving east. A broad, weak
trough remains slow moving through central parts of the State. A cold front
will move over the southwest on Thursday morning, followed by a stronger ridge
rapidly extending across southern districts in the wake of the front on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 15 March
Isolated showers about the north coast of the Kimberley. Chance of morning fog
over the southern coastal districts between Bunbury and Eyre. Very hot over
northern and eastern inland parts of the South West Land Division, western
Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and southern Kimberley.
Forecast for Thursday 16 March
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley. Showers
developing southwest of a line from Lancelin across Narrogin to Hopetoun.
Chance of a thunderstorm near coast between Windy Harbour and Albany. Chance of
morning fog over inland Lower West and adjacent districts. Very hot over
southern Kimberley, Goldfields, inland South East Coastal and inland Eucla
districts.
Forecast for Friday 17 March
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeast Pilbara
and northern parts of the Interior during the afternoon and evening. Few
showers south of a line from Busselton across Katanning to Balladonia. Very hot
over southern Kimberley and Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 18 March
Isolated showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara
and northern parts of the Interior during the afternoon and evening. Few
showers over the southern coastal districts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
