Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A deep tropical low lies over the north Kimberley coast, located just inland of
the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf near the WA/NT Border and is forecast to move slowly
south to southeast, into the Northern Territory during the morning. A trough
extends from this tropical low into the Pilbara.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is strengthening over the south coast with a trough
deepening near the west coast. The trough will remaining near stationary for
most of the week, moving inland from the west coast on Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 28 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley with heavy falls possible in
northern and far eastern parts, and damaging winds possible along the northeast
coast in the early morning. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the far North
Interior, Pilbara, north and west Gascoyne, and north Central West District.
Windy over central and eastern parts. Hot to very hot over western and northern
parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Wednesday 1 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley with heavy falls possible in
the far north and east. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the far North
Interior, north and west Pilbara, west Gascoyne and northern Central West
district. Windy over central and eastern parts. Hot to very hot over western
and northern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Thursday 2 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley with heavy falls possible in
the far north and east. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the far North
Interior, north and west Pilbara, west Gascoyne and Central West district.
Chance of thunderstorms near the west coast south of Geraldton. Windy over
central and eastern parts. Hot to very hot over western and northern parts of
the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Friday 3 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, north and west Pilbara,
west Gascoyne and northern and western parts of the South West Land Division.
Windy over central and eastern parts, mostly in the morning. Hot to very hot
over northern parts and inland parts of the South West Land Division.
