Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure lies over northern parts of the State. A ridge
strengthening to the south is bringing a dry southeasterly airmass into the
inland Kimberley, pushing the trough closer to the north coast, where it is
expected to lie into mid next week before moving back further inland later in
the week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep surface trough extends from the inland Gascoyne, though the west
Goldfields and to the Esperance coast. The trough will continue to move
eastwards today and on Wednesday as a new high pressure ridge develops across
the southwest coast. The southern end of the trough will be pushed northeast
out of the state by Thursday and the ridge continues to extend east along the
south coast. A weak trough will develop near the west coast on Thursday before
moving east ahead of the remnants of a cold front brushing the western south
coast later in the week.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 7 February
