Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure persists across the Pilbara, North Interior and
Kimberley. A tropical low is expected to move into Timor Sea later today to the
north of the Kimberley. It is expected to move west southwest to the north of
Western Australia, then move south to southeast later in the week towards the
eastern Pilbara coast.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge will extend across the southwest coast and build across the southern
coastal areas during the remainder of today, before weakening on Thursday as a
west coast trough redevelops. The west coast trough will move inland on Friday
ahead of a cold front across the south coast, followed by a firm ridge of high
pressure.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 25 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and
western parts of North Interior, inland Gascoyne, far northeast parts of
Central West, far northeast Central Wheat Belt, Goldfields, Eucla and adjacent
South East Coastal district. Very hot through northeastern parts of Central
West.

Forecast for Thursday 26 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern parts of
the Interior, inland Gascoyne, far northeast parts of Central West, western
Goldfields and eastern parts of Central Wheat Belt. Chance of light showers on
the south coast east of Albany. Very hot through inland Central West and
northern parts of the Central Wheat Belt.

Forecast for Friday 27 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, eastern
Gascoyne, Goldfields, South East Coastal and Eucla. Showers south of a line
from Mandurah to Lake Grace.

Forecast for Saturday 28 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, and
northern Gascoyne. Showers over eastern Eucla.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
