Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure persists across the Pilbara, North Interior and
Kimberley. A tropical low is expected to move into Timor Sea on Wednesday to
the north of the Kimberley. It is expected to then move west southwest to the
north of Western Australia and gradually develop later in the week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure over southeast WA will weaken and contract east from
later Monday. Consequently, a slow moving trough near the west coast will
become mobile and move inland later on Monday. On Tuesday, a new ridge will
extend across the southwest coast and build across the southern coastal areas
on Wednesday, before weakening on Thursday as a west coast trough redevelops.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 23 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, North Interior,
inland Gascoyne, western Goldfields and inland Central West. Isolated heavy
falls possible over northwest Kimberley. Very hot over inland South West Land
Division.

Forecast for Tuesday 24 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara, North Interior, Gascoyne and
Kimberley. Chance of showers and gusty thunderstorms over inland South West,
eastern Central Wheat Belt, eastern Great Southern and western Goldfields.
Isolated heavy falls possible over northwest Kimberley. Few light showers or
areas of drizzle over the southern coast districts west of Israelite Bay. Very
hot over inland Central West, Central Wheat Belt, eastern Great Southern,
southern Goldfields and eastern parts of South East Coastal district.

Forecast for Wednesday 25 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara, North Interior, inland
Gascoyne, Kimberley, eastern Central Wheat Belt, Goldfields. Heavy falls
possible over northern Kimberley. Showers or areas of drizzle over southern
coast districts and Great Southern. Very hot through inland parts of the
Central West.

Forecast for Thursday 26 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara, northern parts of the
Interior, inland Gascoyne and Kimberley. Heavy falls possible over north and
northwest Kimberley.Very hot through Central West and northern parts of the
Central Wheat Belt.
