Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure extends lies over the Kimberley and Pilbara.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is developing south of the State with a trough to
develop on the west coast on Monday. The trough deepens on Tuesday before
moving inland during the day, reaching the Goldfields and the far eastern South
West Land Division on Wednesday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 9 January
Isolated showers over the Kimberley with the chance of thunderstorms over the
eastern Pilbara. Chance of thunderstorms with little or no rainfall over the
southern Gascoyne, Central West, northwest Central Wheat Belt and inland Lower
West districts. Windy over southern parts of the State. Very hot over the
southwest Pilbara, western Gascoyne, Central West, Wheat Belt and Lower West.

Forecast for Tuesday 10 January
Showers and chance of thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley, eastern North
Interior, southeast Gascoyne, South West Land Division and western Goldfields.
Windy over the south and east Gascoyne, Central West, Wheat Belt and Lower
West. Very hot over the southwest Pilbara, central Gascoyne and inland parts of
the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Wednesday 11 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and northeast Interior. Chance of
thunderstorms with little or no rainfall over the southeast Goldfields, eastern
parts of the South West Land Division and western Eucla. Slight chance of
drizzle extending east near the south coast. Very hot over the inland Pilbara,
into the Goldfields, Interior and inland Eucla.

Forecast for Thursday 12 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and the Interior. Hot to very hot
throughout, away from the west and south coasts of the South West Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
