Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure extends from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie located
over the southern Northern Territory which continues to move southeast.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is developing south of the State with a trough to
develop on the west coast on Monday. The trough deepens on Tuesday before
moving inland during the day.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 8 January
Isolated showers over the Kimberley and far east Pilbara. Chance of
thunderstorms over the southwest and northeast Kimberley and east Pilbara.
Showers about the far eastern parts of the Interior. Windy over the Goldfields,
Eucla and South Interior. Very hot over southwest Pilbara, western Gascoyne and
inland northern parts of the Central West.

Forecast for Monday 9 January
Showers and chance of thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Showers about the far
eastern parts of the Interior. Chance of thunderstorms with little or no
rainfall over southern Gascoyne, northern parts of the South West Land Division
and far northwest Goldfields. Windy over southern parts of the State. Very hot
over southwest Pilbara, western Gascoyne, Central West and Lower West.

Forecast for Tuesday 10 January
Showers and chance of thunderstorms over the Kimberley and eastern North
Interior. Showers and chance of thunderstorms over the southeast Gascoyne,
South West Land Division and west Goldfields. Windy over the Gascoyne, Central
West and Lower West. Very hot over southwest Pilbara, central Gascoyne and
inland parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Wednesday 11 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and northeast Interior. Chance of
thunderstorms with little or no rainfall over the Goldfields and eastern parts
of the South West Land Division. Slight chance of drizzle near the western
south coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
