Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure will persist over the Pilbara and Kimberley.
Tropical Cyclone ‚Ellie‘ is located over the western Top End of the NT early
Friday morning. It is then expected to continue to move southwards over inland
parts but there is some uncertainty on its exact path. Refer to

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A firm ridge of high pressure will remain south of the State, whilst a low
pressure trough remains near the west coast. The southern end of the trough
will move inland on Saturday ahead of a weak cold front expected to brush the
western south coast on Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 23 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, tending to squally storms
and heavy falls possible in the northeast. Showers and gusty thunderstorms also
over the north and central Interior, Pilbara, north and west Gascoyne, and
northern Central West district.Very hot over northern and central parts of the
South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 24 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with heavy falls possible.
Showers and gusty thunderstorms also over the north and central Interior,
Pilbara, and north and west Gascoyne and adjacent northern Central West
district. Very hot over northern and central and inland eastern parts of the
South West Land Division.

Forecast for Sunday 25 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, with heavy falls possible
in the east. Showers and gusty thunderstorms also over the Interior, Pilbara,
Gascoyne, Goldfields, eastern parts of the South West Land Division and western
Eucla. Possible shower about the western south coast of the South West Land
Division. Very hot over inland northern and central parts of the South West
Land Division, Goldfields and Eucla.

Forecast for Monday 26 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, Interior,
Eucla, Goldfields, eastern Gascoyne and far eastern South West Land Division.
Very hot over inland eastern parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields
and Eucla.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
