Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure will persist over the Pilbara and Kimberley
through to at least the weekend. A tropical low forecast to form in the Timor
Sea over the next couple of days will slowly move southwards towards the
northeast Kimberley coast later in the week and likely to be inland over the
east Kimberley or adjacent Top End by Saturday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A firm ridge of high pressure will remain south of the State, whilst a low
pressure trough remains near the west coast.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 21 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, north and west Interior,
south and east Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern Central West, and far northern
Goldfields.
Forecast for Thursday 22 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley with heavy falls possible in
the north and east. Showers and gusty thunderstorms also over the north
Interior, southeast Pilbara, north and west Gascoyne.
Forecast for Friday 23 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley with heavy falls possible in
the north and east. Showers and gusty thunderstorms also over the north
Interior, Pilbara, north and west Gascoyne, and northern Central West.
Forecast for Saturday 24 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley with heavy falls possible in
the northeast. Showers and gusty thunderstorms also over the north Interior,
Pilbara, and north and west Gascoyne.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
