Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extending from inland Kimberley into northeastern Gascoyne is expected
to be slow moving until later in the week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge will lie to the south of the state throughout the
forecast period. A trough over central parts of the state extends northeast
into the Interior. The trough is extending a branch towards the west coast and
a low is expected to form within the trough today and move south. The trough
and low pressure system will move inland on Thursday as a new ridge arrives on
the west coast from the Indian Ocean. A weak cold front will brush past the
southwest coast on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 7 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Interior, western Goldfields, eastern
Gascoyne, southeast Pilbara and northern parts of the South West Land Division,
mostly in the afternoon and evening, with little to no rainfall expected.
Showers and thunderstorms about southern parts of the South West Land Division.
Chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley. Very
hot over northern parts of the State.
Forecast for Thursday 8 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the South West Land Division, far
southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, Interior and eastern Kimberley. Little
to no rainfall expected with thunderstorms over North Interior, eastern
Kimberley and over the Central Wheat Belt. Very hot over northern parts of the
State.
Forecast for Friday 9 December
Showers over southwestern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers and
gusty thunderstorms over the eastern Interior, eastern Eucla and northeast
Kimberley with little to no rainfall expected. Very hot over northern parts of
the State.
Forecast for Saturday 10 December
Showers over southern coastal districts of the South West Land Division.
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the eastern Interior and northeast
Kimberley with little to no rainfall expected. Very hot over northern parts of
the State.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
