Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extending from inland Kimberley into northeastern Gascoyne is expected
to gradually move north and east ahead of a south to southeast wind change.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge will lie to the south of the state throughout the
forecast period. A trough over central parts of the state extends towards the
west coast. A low pressure system within the trough is moving south along the
west coast. The west coast trough and low pressure system will move inland on
Thursday as a new ridge arrives from the Indian Ocean. A weak cold front will
brush past the southwest coast on Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 8 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the South West Land Division, far
southeast Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, Interior and eastern Kimberley,
contracting east during the day over the South West Land Division. Little to no
rainfall expected with thunderstorms over North Interior, southeast Kimberley
and over the Central Wheat Belt. Damaging winds possible with thunderstorms
over South Interior, eastern Goldfields, South East Coastal and northwest Eucla
districts. Very hot over northern parts of the State.

Forecast for Friday 9 December
Showers over southwestern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers and
gusty thunderstorms over the eastern Interior, eastern Eucla, northern and
eastern Kimberley with little to no rainfall expected. Very hot over northern
parts of the State.

Forecast for Saturday 10 December
Showers over southern coastal districts of the South West Land Division.
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the eastern Interior and northern
Kimberley. Very hot over northern parts of the State.

Forecast for Sunday 11 December
Chance of a shower about the south coast. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over
the northeast Interior, northern and eastern Kimberley. Very hot over northern
parts of the State.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
