Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the inland Kimberley to an embedded low over the northern
Goldfields. The low and trough will move southeast during Saturday as a ridge
begins to push in over the west coast. Another weak trough will form along the
Pilbara coast from Sunday as the ridge extends further over the south of the
State.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge lies south of the State. A trough lies over central parts
of the State with an embedded low over the northern Goldfields. Another low may
form at the western end of the trough, near the Central West coast, during
Friday evening. The trough and lows will move southeast during Saturday as a
strong ridge begins to push in over the west coast. The ridge will extend over
the southern half during Sunday and Monday and is expected to dominate the
synoptic pattern for the following few days.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 29 October
Showers extending throughout the South West Land Division during the morning
with possible thunderstorms over the northeastern half, easing from western
districts in the afternoon and evening. Moderate falls possible over the Lower
West, Great Southern and Southeast Coastal districts. Showers and thunderstorms
also possible for the southern Goldfields, southwest Gascoyne, Eucla, eastern
Interior and far east Kimberley. Cooler than normal temperatures for southwest
WA. Windy over much of the State, especially the Gascoyne, Pilbara, northern
Goldfields, Eucla and Interior.

Forecast for Sunday 30 October
A cold southerly airstream over southern parts with showers over southern and
central parts of the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and the
Eucla district. Small hail possible in showers along the south coast. Cooler
than normal temperatures for southern WA. Windy through central parts of the
State.

Forecast for Monday 31 October
Showers over southern districts, contracting east to the Eucla coast by
evening. Windy over the Pilbara, Interior and Eucla.

Forecast for Tuesday 1 November
Showers over southern districts, becoming more isolated by evening. Very hot
conditions returning to the northeast Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
