Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the Kimberley along the Pilbara coast and will move
inland to the southeast during Thursday. A low will form at the southern end of
the trough over the western Pilbara on Thursday morning, then move south during
Thursday and Friday. A ridge extending over the west coast will also move south
over the coming days.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge is pushing in over western parts of the State and a weak cold front is
crossing the southwest this morning. A trough and embedded low over northern WA
will track southeast through the Gascoyne and Goldfields on Thursday and Friday
as the ridge moves south and extends along the south coast.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 26 October
A few showers possible around the southwest corner of the State and through
southern coastal districts. Very hot conditions persisting over the northeast
Kimberley. Sunny skies expected through the Pilbara, Gascoyne, Central West and
northern Goldfields. Slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm in the
northeast Kimberley.

Forecast for Thursday 27 October
Mostly sunny over the southern half with isolated showers along the south
coast. A cloud band may produce high-based showers and thunderstorms through
the inland Pilbara in the afternoon. Slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm
in the northeast Kimberley with very hot conditions persisting.

Forecast for Friday 28 October
Isolated showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division. Showers
and isolated thunderstorms developing through the southern Goldfields, Eucla
and South Interior during the afternoon and in the Lower West and western parts
of the Wheat Belt and Great Southern in the evening. Very hot again in the
northeast Kimberley.

Forecast for Saturday 29 October
Rain and isolated thunderstorms extending over most of the South West Land
Division during the morning, then moving east over southeastern parts of the
State and clearing from western districts by evening. Showers also possible for
the southern Gascoyne and showers and thunderstorms for eastern parts of the
Kimberley and Interior, mainly during the afternoon.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
