Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies through the Kimberley and extends across the Pilbara to the
Gascoyne. The southern end of the trough will move eastwards during today as a
new ridge begins to push in over the west coast.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough inland from the west coast will continue to move eastwards. A low is
expected to form at the base of the trough over the southern Goldfields and
south coast during today. A weak cold front will also cross the southwest
corner during today, with shower activity increasing on Friday as a mid-level
trough moves over the area.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 20 October
Tending cooler around the southwest corner of the State with the chance of
showers. Very warm to hot through the inland Gascoyne and Goldfields with fresh
and gusty northeast to northwesterly winds. A chance of an afternoon or evening
shower or thunderstorm over the eastern South East Coastal district and western
Eucla . Isolated showers and thunderstorms again over the northern Kimberley.

Forecast for Friday 21 October
Showers across much of the South West Land Division, most likely about the west
coast south of Jurien Bay and over the south coast west of Israelite Bay. A
chance of thunderstorms in the northern Kimberley and far southeastern Eucla.
Tending cooler through the eastern South West Land Division but temperatures
increasing in the eastern Kimberley.

Forecast for Saturday 22 October
Showers moving over southeastern parts of the State including the southern
Goldfields and South East Coastal District. Isolated thunderstorms in the
northern Kimberley and far eastern parts of the Interior. A fresh and gusty
southeasterly wind surge moving through eastern parts of the State.

Forecast for Sunday 23 October
Showers developing over the South West Land Division during the day. Light
showers also possible along the Eucla coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
