Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough lies through the Kimberley and extends off the Pilbara coast. The
trough along the Pilbara coast will move back across the coast during the
afternoon then offshore again this evening, repeating this pattern on
Wednesday. The trough will then move southeastward during Thursday as a new
ridge extends into the western part of the Pilbara.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep low will move eastward across South Australia during today. A high
pressure ridge extends across the west coast. A trough will begin to deepen
down the west coast, moving inland later in the day on Wednesday as the high
pushes into the Bight. On Thursday the trough will continue eastward to reach
the Goldfields as the northern end of a cold front clips the South West coast.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 18 October
Showers and thunderstorms on an easing trend over the Eucla and southeast South
Interior with winds easing across the remainder of the south coast. Possible
showers and storms, mainly in the afternoon, over the north Kimberley. A light
frost possible in parts of the Great Southern, then warmer temperatures in the
afternoon for most of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Wednesday 19 October
Possible showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley. Warm and
sunny through the Gascoyne, Goldfields and South West Land Division. Remaining
cooler than normal over the Interior and Eucla.

Forecast for Thursday 20 October
Tending cooler over the South West, Lower West, Great Southern and South
Coastal District with the chance of showers. Very warm to hot through the
inland Gascoyne and Goldfields. Also very warm in the South East Coastal
District with the slight chance of afternoon and evening showers and
thunderstorms. Possible thunderstorms in the northeast Kimberley.

Forecast for Friday 21 October
Showers across much of the South West Land Division, most likely about the west
coast south of Jurien Bay and over the south coast west of Israelite Bay.
Slight chance of thunderstorms in the northeast Kimberley. Tending cooler
through the eastern South West Land Division but remaining hot in the Interior
and Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
