Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure over northern parts with a weak trough extending
through the Pilbara and Northern Interior districts. The trough will extend
offshore during the morning today and again Saturday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is extending east across southern parts of the State.
By Saturday a high pressure centre will lie over southeastern parts with a
surface trough developing down the west coast. The trough will move inland
Saturday afternoon ahead of a weak cold front forecast to move over the far
southwest of the State on Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 7 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern and eastern Kimberley. Light
showers over far southern parts of the South West Land Division, southern parts
of Eucla district and one or two about the west coastal fringe south of Jurien
Bay clearing around dawn. Possible morning frost and fog over the Great
Southern, adjacent areas in the South West and South Coastal districts.

Forecast for Saturday 8 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the northeast Kimberley. Light showers
developing about the western south coast between Cape Leeuwin and Walpole in
the afternoon or evening. Possible morning frost over the southern Central
Wheat Belt, Great Southern and adjacent South West, South East Coastal, Eucla
and southern parts of the Goldfields districts. Chance of morning fog over
Eucla and adjacent South East Coastal district.

Forecast for Sunday 9 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley. Showers southwest of a
line Busselton to Albany, gradually extending to southwest of Perth to
Katanning to Bremer Bay during the day.

Forecast for Monday 10 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the northern Kimberley. Showers over western and
southern parts of the South West Land Division, Eucla and adjacent South
Interior.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
