Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Hot across the Kimberley. A trough lies inland from the Pilbara and Kimberley
coasts. A new high pressure ridge developing to the south on Sunday will result
in fresh and gusty southeasterly winds over the Pilbara, Interior and southwest
Kimberley.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge is developing over southern parts of the State while a
high pressure system moves into the Bight during today. A trough also develops
inland from the west coast today while a cold front approaches from the
southwest later on. The trough deepens and moves across the Eucla and South
Interior on Saturday, while the front will reach the Southwest Capes later this
evening and then over the South West Land Division and southern Goldfields on
Saturday. A ridge then develops over southern parts of the State in its wake on
Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 23 September
An evening shower or two southwest of Bunbury to Albany. Chance of afternoon
thunderstorms over the far northern Kimberley. Possible morning frost over the
Great Southern and adjacent South West district.

Forecast for Saturday 24 September
Showers extending to southwest of Shark Bay to Kalgoorlie to Israelite Bay
during the morning. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the far northern
Kimberley, Eucla and adjacent Goldfields.

Forecast for Sunday 25 September
Showers southwest of Lancelin to Katanning to Eucla and southeastern parts of
the South Interior. Possible morning frost over the Central Wheat Belt,
northeast Great Southern and southwest Goldfields. Chance of afternoon
thunderstorms over the far northern Kimberley. Windy over most of the north of
the State.

Forecast for Monday 26 September
Showers near the south and Eucla coasts. Possible morning fog over inland parts
of the South West Land Division. Windy over most of the north of the State.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
