Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A low pressure trough lies over the Kimberley and Pilbara. The trough will push
offshore from the Pilbara and southwest Kimberley coasts on Thursday morning as
a high pressure system moves south of the State. The trough will extend over
the western Pilbara on Friday and move over the remaining Pilbara on Saturday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge extends over central and southern parts of the state. A trough will
deepen off the west coast late Thursday and Friday with a low expected to form
near the Gascoyne coast. The trough will deepen as it moves inland from the
Gascoyne and northern Central West coast on Saturday with the low drifting
southwards offshore.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 1 September
Light coastal showers between Windy Harbour and Israelite Bay. Possible morning
fogs over southern districts of the Southwest Land Division. Showers and
thunderstorms over the southeast Kimberley and northeast Interior. Windy over
the Gascoyne and Pilbara.
Forecast for Friday 2 September
Rain and showers extending over the western Pilbara, Gascoyne, northern
Goldfields, western Interior and northern parts of the South West Land
Division. Heavy falls possible over the southern Gascoyne and Central West
districts. Chance of thunderstorms over the western parts of the Gascoyne and
northern parts of the Central West. Morning light showers also possible along
the south coast east of Albany. Windy over much of the State.
Forecast for Saturday 3 September
Rain and showers over much of the State, apart from the Kimberley and Eucla.
Heavy falls possible over the inland Gascoyne and inland southern Pilbara.
Chance of thunderstorms apart from the Kimberley, Eucla and southern parts of
the South West Land Division. Windy over much of the State.
Forecast for Sunday 4 September
Showers over much of the State, apart from the Kimberley and central and
western Pilbara. Chance of thunderstorms over the Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
