Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough over the east Pilbara and Kimberley will move north and out of
the area by the weekend as a high pressure ridge continues to develop over
central parts of the state today.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strengthening high pressure ridge is developing across Western Australia
today.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 18 August
Showers along the south coast, with possible small hail between Albany and
Esperance in the morning. Light showers also possible over southern parts of
the Lower West, remaining parts of the South West, South Coast and Southeast
Coastal districts. Showers over the central and southern Goldfields, southern
parts of the South Interior and Eucla clearing from the west during the day.
Morning fog about valleys in sheltered areas of the coast, and early frosts
over the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Friday 19 August
Light showers possible over the Lower West, South West, southwestern parts of
the Great Southern, South Coast and South East Coastal districts. Possible
morning fogs over inland parts of the South West Land Division and the far
southwest of the Goldfields. Morning frosts over the central parts of the
Goldfields, far southeast of the Gascoyne, and northeastern parts of the
Central Wheat Belt.

Forecast for Saturday 20 August
Light showers possible, mostly coastal over southern districts of the South
West Land Division, and along the Eucla coast. Possible morning fogs over the
southern half of the South West Land Division and southern parts of the
Goldfields.

Forecast for Sunday 21 August
Light showers over the South West and South Coastal districts, extending into
the adjacent Great Southern and east along the south coast to Esperance during
the afternoon and evening. Possible morning fogs over the southern half of the
South West Land Division.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
