Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge near the eastern border is directing a northeast flow over eastern
parts. A trough over the Kimberley extends into the Interior. The trough will
move north as a ridge develops over central parts of the State on Wednesday
bringing south to southeasterly winds.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front will continue to move north and east over the south of the state
today, and will be followed by a very cold airmass as a low pressure trough
sweeps across the south. A ridge then develops over central parts of the State
on Wednesday and moves south on Thursday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 9 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields, southern and
coastal Gascoyne, Eucla, Interior and southeast Pilbara. Showers becoming gusty
through the morning in the eastern Eucla and Southern Interior. Chance of
thunderstorms south of a line Jurien Bay to Eucla and small hail possible
southwest of a line Jurien Bay to Esperance. Possible snow flurries on the
peaks of the Stirling Range in the morning. Cold maximum temperatures over most
of the South West Land Division and southwest Goldfields.

Forecast for Wednesday 10 August
Showers over western and southern parts of the South West Land Division, far
southern Goldfields and southern Eucla. Chance of thunderstorms along the
eastern coast of the Southeast Coastal district and Eucla coast. Possible small
hail over the Southeast Coastal and eastern parts of the South Coastal
districts. Areas of rain and showers over the eastern Pilbara, North Interior,
northeastern parts of the South Interior. Morning frosts and fogs over
northeastern parts of the South West Land Division and southern Gascoyne.

Forecast for Thursday 11 August
Showers over far western and southern parts of the South West Land Division,
southern Goldfields and Eucla. Areas of rain and showers over the northeast
Pilbara, North Interior, northeastern parts of South Interior and far southern
Kimberley. Morning frosts and fogs over inland parts of the South West Land
Division, southeastern Gascoyne, northern Goldfields and southern South
Interior.

Forecast for Friday 12 August
Light showers over far southern parts of the South West Land Division,
extending into the Lower West later in the day. Areas of rain and showers over
the eastern North Interior. Morning fogs over the South West Land Division.
Morning frosts possible over the far east South West Land Division, Goldfields
and southern parts of the South Interior.
